At Walton-le-Dale High School we have a fantastic group of young people working as our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors to help tackle and eliminate bullying.
The core values of the Ambassadors are centred around our school values of Ready, Respect and Safe, displayed below:
READY
- Attending regular meetings and being punctual.
- Wearing the anti-bullying badge with pride.
RESPECT
- Respecting all members of the Walton-le-Dale community.
- Accepting that bullying, intolerance and discrimination are unacceptable in our school.
- Actively listening to peers and truly acknowledge their thoughts without expressing their own.
- Taking the time to consider someone else’s emotions.
- Communicating positively – making sure their words are accessible to everyone.
- Always being a positive ambassador for the school.
SAFE
- Working within the team or with a member of staff to take action against a bullying situation.
- Following up with a trusted adult so they are aware of what has happened.
- Not promising to keep information.
- Defusing situations where possible positively, using understanding, humour, friendly body language and support from both sides. Where this doesn’t resolve a situation, getting a member of staff.
Our Ambassadors are currently working toward their second Diana Awards badge!
This page will be updated with news and updates from the Ambassadors soon!
